Photo Capture Protocol
Capture close-up, mid-range, and whole-plant context frames whenever possible. Include healthy comparison tissue in the same lighting conditions.
Capture essentials
- • Close-up of texture and lesion edge.
- • Mid-range spread pattern across neighboring tissue.
- • Whole-plant context with canopy and stage clues.
- • Repeat frames over 24–72h when progression matters.
Avoid
- • Motion blur or heavy digital zoom.
- • Color-shifting filters and HDR artifacts.
- • Single frame without surrounding context.
- • Mixed lighting that hides true color pattern.
Quality checklist
- 1. Is symptom texture in focus?
- 2. Is there healthy contrast tissue?
- 3. Is growth stage clear?
- 4. Is lighting neutral enough for color accuracy?
- 5. Is at least one whole-plant frame included?
