Powdery Mildew

White powder-like patches on leaf surfaces that can expand when airflow and humidity conditions favor fungal growth.

Symptoms

  • White powdery patches
  • Surface-level leaf coating
  • Expansion across nearby leaves
  • Reduced leaf vigor when advanced

Lookalikes

  • Foliar spray residue
  • Mineral residue
  • Dust on leaf surface
  • Light bleaching

Quick triage

  1. Check whether the white material appears powdery rather than wet or crystalline.
  2. Inspect both upper and lower leaf surfaces.
  3. Review recent spray or residue events before assuming infection.
  4. Capture angled photos so surface texture is visible.

Prevention checklist

  • Increase gentle airflow.
  • Avoid overcrowded foliage.
  • Track humidity swings during lights-off or cool periods.
  • Document recent spray history with any upload.
